NEWS: Michelin Key Ratings Announced for Top 189 Hotels

You’ve probably heard of Michelin-rated restaurants, some of which you’ll find around Disney World, but did you know this distinction is expanding?

That’s right! Michelin is known to review and rate tons of restaurants across the world, including in Disney World or very close by. Now, it seems they’ve set their sights on expanding their ratings and ensuring quality to another component of your vacation. This is one rating that you should definitely take notice of!

Every year Michelin Guide rates select restaurants based on the quality of anonymous reviews and experience, and now they’re looking to take that a step further. The Michelin Key will now extend to hotels — that’s right, they’re going to tell you the BEST places to stay!

If you’re not already familiar with the Michelin Key, it’s “the newest distinction created by the MICHELIN Guide to reward to best hotels within its selection.” This distinction is determined by the MICHELIN Guide Inspectors based on their experience as anonymous hotel visitors and their stays. The first round of these hotels to be awarded Michelin Keys will focus on the most outstanding hotels in France.

Their rating system ranges from one to three keys. Each stay evaluated is more than one night and scored in five different categories — architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.

All in all, this honor was awarded to 24 Three Key hotels…

So as you can see, Michelin has done their research on these hotels, and there are plenty in terms of places to stay that we know are now top-rated in various categories (beyond them all being stunningly gorgeous)!
