If you’ve ever daydreamed of living in Disney 24/7, 365 days a year, you should rejoice as those fantasies are becoming much closer to reality.
Disney has released a massive construction update about their first Storyliving community in California (a second is already planned for North Carolina). As we’ve spoken about before, the upcoming Cotino community will be a fully Disney-designed, built, and master-planned residential community. Now, the company has announced a new series that will give us an inside look into the construction of Cotino.
Disney is beginning the new journal series titled The Blueprint: The Making of Stor. The new blog will be “the new ‘home’ for all things relating to Cotino community construction.” The new set of journal entries is similar to what Disney does with its Ship Logs for the Disney Treasure as it has been getting built. It’s a fun way to give updates about what’s going on behind the scenes.
Disney shared that “Creating the first Storyliving by Disney community from scratch takes time, planning and, of course, a little bit of magic!”
Longtable Park
The first installment of The Blueprint dedicates time to discussing Longtable Park, the first in a series of several community parks in Cotino. According to Disney, the park’s name stems from Walt Disney himself and takes inspiration from the fact that when Walt visited the area, he would “often begin his day with some desert adventures then join his neighbors for a group breakfast and good conversation around a friendly table.”
Disney goes to stress that Cotino residents using the park can “keep that same friendly spirit alive.” Residents can enjoy spending time at Longtable Park by using several amenities including shaded lawn seating, barbecue grills, fire pits, bocce ball courts, bird baths, and more. In addition, the park will feature a literal long table “surrounded by beautiful palo verde and olive trees.” Longtable Park will be available for residents 55+ who live in the Longtable Park area of Cotino.
Model Homes
Beyond the park, Disney has also announced the construction of model homes by Shea Homes. These allow potential residents to tour the various home options available in Cotino. The model structures will vary. There will be three different home options for residents to choose from. You’ll find flex and loft spaces along with areas like courtyards and terraces. Each area encouraging residents to be outdoors to enjoy the natural beauty of the California location.
In addition, further home options from additional homebuilders are said to be “coming soon”, as is more general information about Storyliving! We’ll be keeping a close eye on the new journal as more entries are made.
