We’re always looking for the next best thing to watch on Disney+!
Between classic animated tales, Star Wars and Marvel movies, Bluey, and even Taylor Swift — there’s something for just about everyone! And, with the latest Hulu integration, we’ve got even more to watch. Not only that, but a new documentary will be premiering on Disney+ soon and we’re picking up some good vibrations about it.
Great news for all you fans of The Beach Boys out there! A new documentary detailing the iconic band will premiere on Disney+ on May 24th! “The Beach Boys” has been described as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come,” Variety reports.
The doc will include never-before-seen-footage and interviews with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston along with stars like Lindsay Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was. Former band members Carl and Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chaplin, and Ricky Fataar will also be featured.
“The Beach Boys” was directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, written by Mark Monroe, and produced by Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures.
In addition to the documentary, the soundtrack will be available to stream on May 24th along with a limited edition release of the Beach Boys’ 1964 album “Shut Down Vol. 2” on blue-and-white marble vinyl available on March 29th.
This documentary follows the release of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” movie on Disney+, which quickly broke streaming records.
Stay tuned to DFB as we bring you the latest news on Disney+, Disney parks, and more!
Editor’s note: AJ wanted me to mention that the music video for the Beach Boys’ song, “Kokomo,” was shot at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Disney World. Oh, and that former member Dennis Wilson was good friends with cult leader Charles Manson. Yes, that one.
