Remember when Princess Tiana sang, “People gonna come here from everywhere. And I’m almost there.” Well, she probably wasn’t talking about a Magic Kingdom attraction, but the words still apply, right? In case you’re unfamiliar, there’s a NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction coming to Disney World AND Disneyland Resort this year!

In fact, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World in the summer of 2024, and “later in 2024” in Disneyland. We’ve been keeping our eyes out for updates, so come with us to see the BIG news we discovered in Magic Kingdom.

Disney previously shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” From the new animatronics to the NEW music, there’s a LOT to look forward to. But look what we just saw! That’s right — those are Disney Cast Members (Imagineers, we’re presuming) RIDING Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

We don’t know much about what it looks like INSIDE the ride, but we do know that YOU will join Tiana on an adventure throughout the ride! In fact, Disney explained, “On Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we’ll join Tiana and Louis on a trip to the bayou, where they meet all sorts of unexpected new friends who have a special role to play at the [Mardi Gras] party.” Here’s a peek at Disney Imagineers at the top of the hill…

They’re about to go down the BIG drop!

…and there they go, DOWN the salt dome! Yes, Disney confirmed that as part of the NEW story, Princess Tiana bought and transformed an old large salt dome (that’s the “mountain!”) with the help of her mother, Naveen, Louis, and others.

Get ready for that big SPLASH! It’s coming…coming…just wait for it (brace yourself!).

BOOM! There’s that signature splash. Just like the old ride, Splash Mountain, the NEW attraction will last about 11 or 12 minutes.

GLORIOUS!

Look out for NEW state-of-the-art audio-animatronics of characters, including Tiana (of course), Louis, and the “critter band.” How exciting! Those Cast Members look like they had FUN.

We’ll admit it; we’re a little jealous they get to ride this attraction — even if it’s still not completed. As we said, we don’t know for sure what it looks like inside, so it’s hard to say how much of the story they can really experience at this point.
