It took a while for some things to return to the parks and hotels after Disney World closed in 2020.
In fact, we’re STILL seeing some offerings return FOUR YEARS after Disney temporarily shut down. The Grand Floridian Hotel’s 1900 Park Fare restaurant is finally reopening soon, and we’re getting a new Little Mermaid stage show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to replace Voyage of the Little Mermaid. But there’s one thing we’ve been HOPING would return to its full, pre-pandemic glory, and our wished may finally be coming true!
All you pin traders have likely noticed that pin trading with Cast Members is pretty difficult right now. Yes, most gift shops have pin boards, but pin trading just isn’t the same as it used to be. But that could be changing soon!

Disney has officially announced that Cast Member-to-guest pin trading will return on April 7th! This change will go live all around the parks and resorts SOON.

For several years since the pandemic, you’ve been able to go into stores and pin trade at spots like Frontierland Trading Co. or Sir Mickey’s gift shop, but often, those pins were all displayed on a corkboard. Soon, though, you’ll be able to trade directly with Cast Members around the parks! They may be wearing a pin lanyard or a crossbody with pins on it. Either way, keep your eyes peeled for those shiny enamel pins — they’re making a BIG comeback!

Keep in mind that it’s important that you’re trading REAL Disney pins with Cast Members. Look for that Disney logo on the back of your trader pins. When in doubt, you can always ask a Cast Member!
We can’t wait to see this service return to the parks soon and trade some pins of our own! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news.
