I write about a lot of Disney things, and I’m frequently tempted to go out and buy the souvenir or snack or ticket for the event that I’m writing about, but I’ve gotten pretty good about resisting the temptation and sticking to my budget because if I didn’t, I’d be broke. But I’m STRUGGLING right now.

Some of my favorite events in Disney World are the runDisney races. You get to run through the parks, meet characters along the way, stop for iconic photos, and receive a Disney-themed medal at the end. But did you know that runDisney also does virtual races? That means you run the races at home, and they’ll send you the bib, certificate, and medal!
Disney just announced their 2024 Virtual Series, and y’all. It’s like they made this event JUST for US.
The 2024 runDisney Virtual Series is called “A Snacktacular Celebration.” WHAT. YES. This is everything I’ve ever dreamed about.
UPDATE: As of 2:40PM EST on March 26th, all of the individual events for this virtual series have sold out. The Pineapple Whip Soft Serve Challenge is still open, though.

There are three 5K races that make up this series. The first is the Mickey Mouse Waffle 5K, themed to our favorite breakfast ever.

The next one is the Mickey Mouse Bar 5K, which is of course themed to one of the most iconic frozen treats ever.

Finally, there’s the Minnie Mouse Candy Apple 5K, themed to one of the most delicious (and difficult to eat) snacks in the parks.

When you sign up for a race, you’ll get a commemorative finisher medal, a digital bib and finisher certificate, and a digital race tool kit that includes printable mile markers, so you can map out your own race course.
And CHECK OUT THESE MEDALS (note that Disney said these are the concept art and the designs might change, but we’re still showing them to you because they’re amazing). Here’s the Mickey Waffle one…

…and the Candy Apple one. I’m sold. I can hear the money leaving my bank account already.

Each of the races costs $54, but if you can’t pick just one, you can instead complete the Pineapple Whip Soft Serve Challenge.

Challenge participants run all three races and receive all the medals, PLUS their own Challenge medal! They’ll also get a runDisney virtual series keepsake and a Mickey Mouse Ear Hat Snack Bowl. The challenge costs $176.

You can register for the Virtual Series races starting on March 26th, 2024, at 10AM EST on the runDisney website. You’ll want to be ready right when registration opens, because we’re expecting spots to fill up fast! You must complete your race sometime between June 1st and August 31st, 2024.
