NEW MAP Shows Layout of Disneyland's $1.9 Billion Resort Expansion

Walt Disney’s promise was that Disneyland would NEVER stop growing and expanding.

DisneylandForward is Disneyland’s campaign to expand the parks to bring in new lands, attractions, ideas, and more. It includes a $1.9 billion investment plan to bring new things to the parks. Imagineers and executives have been fighting for these changes since March 2021, and it seems that we’re one step closer to the ✨ FUTURE.✨ A recent Anaheim City Council meeting allowed developers to share their ideas regarding expansion — and they even mentioned a NEW land. Now, the DisneylandForward website is reflecting some of those potential changes.

On the website, there’s a new “Possibilities Map” that reflects the updated ideas and approvals for upcoming changes to Disneyland. Here’s the map:

As you can see, the orange borders on the Possibilities Map show where they would put the new additions, such as new hotels, park expansions, or transportation areas. Disney shared that this plan would allow Disney to bring more innovative and immersive attractions to the parks. During the city council meeting, Disney referenced a few of its other lands overseas, such as Zootopia Land at Shanghai Disney Resort and Rapunzel’s Forest at Tokyo DisneySea. World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland was also mentioned by name, further adding fuel to the speculation that Frozen could be coming to Anaheim in a big way.

So, it’s entirely possible that we could see one or ALL of those themes be included in that little section above that’s on the map!

Disney said, “This property could be the perfect location to cater to locals, conventioneers, hotel and Disneyland Resort guests with restaurants, hotels, live music, shopping, ticketed shows and theme park experiences modeled after the popular Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort.”
