HUGE NEW DETAILS Announced for Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Disney World

We just got some MAJOR news about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Disney announced that the new ride will open THIS SUMMER (instead of “late 2024”), plus we got a first look at the new Tiana animatronic that will be featured in the ride! In addition to that animatronic, Disney announced SIX MORE that will be found throughout the ride when it opens!

Disney announced that guests will be able to see “dozens of entirely new audio-animatronic figures.”

There’s the Princess Tiana one that we saw a first look of, the Louis one that we heard about earlier, along with animatronics of Mama Odie, Eudora, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, Prince Naveen, and others.

There will be animatronics to represent “the critters,” which are swamp animals that make up a bayou band! The critters are “Tiana’s new friends” and include a turtle, beaver, raccoon, rabbit, otter, and more.

We heard previously that the animatronics in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure are state-of-the-art, similar to the new ones used in Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong Disneyland (so none of those slightly scary animatronics with the projected faces).

Disney has reported that they’re currently using cutouts of the animatronics throughout the ride as placeholders so that construction inside can be based on the positioning of the characters, even before the animatronics are placed inside. But it doesn’t look like it’ll be too much longer before those animatronics find their permanent home!

Recently, we saw that water was flowing in the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride, which is another exciting new update that shows we’re getting closer to the ride’s opening.

Music is, of course, going to be a huge part of this attraction. There will be new, original music along with some classic favorites from the Princess and the Frog movie.

Several actors from the movie will be voicing their characters for the ride, including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis, and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.

Disney has shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up where Princess and the Frog leaves off. They stated that the ride will pick up “after the final kiss,” when we’ll get to “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

The ride takes place when Tiana is living out her dream of having her own restaurant! She’s hosting a Mardi Gras celebration, but then she realizes that one important ingredient is missing. So, guests get to tag along with Tiana on her journey throughout the bayou to track down that missing ingredient.
