Ciao! Looking for details on where to find the latest Italian food at EPCOT? We’ve got you covered!
The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts is underway with plenty of food studios, entertainment, and special activity offerings. With everything going on, we are here to help you master this year’s festival! As we tour around EPCOT’s World Showcase, let’s take a stop in Italy and visit this year’s Festival of the Arts booth — L’Arte di Mangiare! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at L’Arte di Mangiare, you’ll find a variety of Italian delicacies. This year’s menu includes:
Food Items:
- Mozzarella Fritta: Flash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments
- Conchiglie Ripiene: Baked stuffed conchiglie pasta with beef, ricotta, peas, pomodoro, and creamy sauce (New)
- Torta Ricotta di Cioccolata: Chocolate cheesecake and whipped cream (New)
Beverages:
- Peroni Pilsner
- Langhe Nebbiolo
- Prosecco
- Italian Sangria (Red or White)
- Italian Margarita with tequila and limoncello
- Elderflower Sparkling Cocktail: Mint-infused elderflower liqueur, prosecco, and sparkling blood orange (New)
The Conchiglie Ripiene, Torta Ricotta di Cioccolata, and Elderflower Sparkling Cocktail are all NEW items this year while everything else is returning to the booth.
Last year, we were IN LOVE with the creativity and taste of the Mozzarella Fritta but felt it was a bit overpriced. As for the drinks, we were mostly satisfied and felt the Italian Margarita and Italian Sangria were standouts.
Now that we’ve gone over the menu, let’s get to the important part — how did everything taste?!
Eats
The Mozzarella Fritta is returning this year. This is Flash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments for $8.50. Yes, it’s fried cheese, and OF COURSE, we’re eating it. But y’all, this presentation!!! 👏 This is also one of those things that should please a lot of people — EVERYONE loves fried cheese, right?
The dips were marinara, an aïoli, a pesto, and a balsamic vinegar. Although you can’t go wrong with fried mozzarella dipped in marinara, we enjoyed the variety here. Our favorite, though, was the aïoli. On the other hand, the pesto dip was oily and needed more acid. Although this is a solid choice, it’s not a stand-out.
Still, it’s super artistic and FRIED CHEESE, so we think it’s a must-get if you haven’t tried it before.
We’ve got some new eats this year, too, though. The Conchiglie Ripiene for $9.50 is made with Baked stuffed conchiglie pasta with beef, ricotta, peas, pomodoro, and creamy sauce. So this dish is…well, it’s fine. It’s one of those things that will please a lot of people, but it’s not that special. We will say that the pasta is well-cooked and not mushy, which we’ve seen coming from food booths in the past.
The filling inside the pasta was a little bland — we felt it needed more salt. The creamy sauce on the bottom was like a whipped ricotta. The topping was just a basic Pomodoro sauce with grated Parmesan cheese. Is this EPCOT Festival of the Arts-worthy food? We’re going to say “nope.”
Also new this year is the Torta Ricotta di Cioccolata for $8. This is a Chocolate cheesecake and whipped cream. Okay, FINALLY something that’s worthy of the Festival of the Arts. This cheesecake is DELICIOUS. Sure, it’s a little standard (it’s cheesecake), but the taste gives it the “wow” factor.
This is creamy and rich, but not heavy. It’s also fluffy and soft like a cheesecake should be with a deep dark chocolate flavor. This is another one of our faves from the festival!
If you like super sweet desserts, this one might not be for you because it’s only slightly sweet. Instead, it’s tangy and rich. Dark chocolate lovers need to jump on this ASAP. Really, though, we thought it was so good that if you skip it, you’re SERIOUSLY missing out.
Drinks
So you can grab a variety of returning drinks here, including Peroni Pilsner (6 oz. $6.50/ 12 oz. $11.00), Langhe Nebbiolo ($14), Prosecco ($11.75), Red or White Italian Sangria ($12), and an Italian Margarita with tequila and limoncello ($12).
But we’re trying the Elderflower Sparkling Cocktail for $15, made with Mint-infused elderflower liqueur, prosecco, and sparkling blood orange. Now, we enjoyed this cocktail. It’s not a sweet drink and most of the flavor we got came from the blood orange, at least more than the elderflower.
We couldn’t taste the mint at all, but we didn’t miss it. It’s flavorful, light, and is a great drink for a warm day at EPCOT.
OVERALL
Although the savory options at this food booth were just okay for us, we really did find a standout dessert in the Cheesecake and would recommend making a beeline to Italy just to try it. The cocktail was also a big hit with us and we’d recommend it, as well. If you have picky eaters in your party, they’d probably like the savory options, but this festival is all about ARTISTRY, especially in food, and we feel like this booth just didn’t get the memo with those two items.
