A new shop coming to Disney World just got an exciting update!
While 2024 is a big year for new offerings coming to Disney World, we’re very intrigued by one in particular — The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. The table service restaurant was announced all the way back in 2022 and was originally supposed to open last year but has been delayed into 2024. Nevertheless, the restaurant seems to be progressing towards opening, and we just got a major update about its soon-to-be-offered confections!
Opening at Disney World’s BoardWalk in what used to be the ESPN Club building, The Cake Bake Shop will be serving up brunch, lunch, and dinner featuring both sweet and savory menus. However, we just learned that most of the baked goods will be made offsite at a commercial bakery in Osceola County, Florida, just one county away from Orlando’s Orange County.
Per GrowthSpotter, the new 31,200-square-foot commercial bakery can be found “within the Trinity Industrial Park just off Poinciana Boulevard. It’s located about a mile south of the Poinciana SunRail station.” This location is the company’s third-largest so far and was purchased even before Rogers closed the deal for the Disney World location. The offsite location is meant to keep up the heavy volume of baked goods produced, while the restaurant’s main objective is to serve savory food. The offsite bakery, according to Rogers, is the best way to quality baked goods at the rate demand requires — we’re talking HUNDREDS of cakes and treats.
Along with meal service, The Cake Bake Shop will also provide an afternoon tea service, a Champagne Bar, a quick-service bake shop, and a retail store. When it comes to the savory menu, previous Cake Bake Shop menus have included Truffle Pommes Frites, Quiche, and Sandwiches. We can’t wait to visit this spot when it opens!
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on The Cake Bake Shop opening day updates as well as all the news coming out of Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest!
