Deciding on what to see at the movie theaters in 2024 could have just become HARDER!

AMC Theater
2024 may be the year you finally get out to the theater, grab your popcorn and snacks, and settle down to see a movie you feel like you’ve waited years to see. But the question you may ask yourself is, which one first? Fandango recently surveyed moviegoers about their most anticipated films released over the next year and the answers they uncovered may surprise you.
The popular movie brand took to surveying 8,000 moviegoers recently about films set to release in 2024 that they’re most excited to see and received quite an array of answers. This also allowed Fandango to gauge the mood they should anticipate from visitors about the upcoming titles and if they’re strong enough to drive folks to the silver screens for the 2024 year.
Close to 81% of people who participated in the survey said they are more excited about films releasing in 2024 than they were going into theaters this year, with 88% of them setting intention to see multiple films.

Fandango used this survey as an opportunity to delve inside the mindset of a moviegoer since alternatives offered on streaming services were made available during the pandemic. The interest in seeing movies through these booming streaming providers had shaken the confidence of more traditional movie-going methods. While profits for theatrical releases have since been on the upswing, film studios are anticipated to release fewer film titles next year partly due to the recently subsided strikes.
As for the Top 10 spots, those surveyed cited the upcoming Deadpool, Beetlejuice, and Ghostbusters franchise installments as their top 3 picks. These were followed by Dune: Part Two, Venom 3, Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2, Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim, Gladiator 2, and A Quiet Place: Day One.
The survey also showed that Hollywood has learned to lean into content with familiar IPs (intellectual properties). Seeing as how Disney could use a big Marvel win at the box office, titles set to release like Deadpool 3 could see a hefty anticipation to make it happen.
Deadpool 3 is the overall top anticipated film of 2024
While we don’t know much about the film yet, you can bet that MARVEL’s sarcastic superhero’s name and the antics of the first 2 Deadpool franchise installments carry enough weight to get folks out to the movie theaters and buying those tickets as soon as they’re on sale.

Inside Out 2 also ranked in the top 10!
The upcoming Disney Pixar film also ranked 2nd on the survey for the most anticipated family movies and came in 7th for 2024’s most anticipated wide-release films.
