REVIEW: Does This EPCOT Festival of the Holidays Treat Have the Best Redemption Arc of All Time?

What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning? Maybe it’s what you’re going to wear that day. Or maybe it’s checking social media. If your first thought is “COFFEE”, you’ve come to the right place!

The 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has kicked off in Disney World and we’re trying every single booth and location participating in the festival. Yes, we’re covering new menu items and the cookie stroll, but for all you coffee lovers out there, a specialty item from the Joffrey’s Coffee stands is at this year’s festival! Let’s check it out.

Drinks

The one Joffrey’s item at this festival is the returning Horchata Cold Brew! You can get the regular for $6.49 and the boozy option with Creamy Spiced Rum for $14.99. It’s made with Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew, Horchata, whipped cream, and cinnamon.

Horchata Cold Brew

The drink debuted at the 2022 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays and unfortunately, we weren’t a huge fan. There was too much cinnamon that was not mixed well which left a grainy texture in our mouths. However, we thought you could overlook that if you’re a huge Horchata fan. Has the drink improved for 2023?

Horchata Cold Brew

Actually, yes! You definitely need to be a fan of cinnamon — so if you’re not, we’d stay away since that’s certainly the most dominant flavor here. You can still taste the coffee, which makes this a nice mix of sweet and acidic. There was a nutty, vanilla flavor that helped to round things out, and the whipped cream was rich and delicious.

Our reporter who tried this said it was the best Joffrey’s festival drink she’s ever had — and might even be a Best of the Fest item!

So good!

This is also a pretty great value for the size compared to other festival offerings — and you can use discounts if you’re eligible! We do have one warning, though, the cup was incredibly flimsy and not sturdy enough for how large this drink is. We don’t recommend grabbing it with brute strength or you might end up spilling on yourself!

OVERALL

We’re thrilled that this drink has seen some improvements since we tried it last year! It was the perfect combination of sweet, bold, and spicy, and a great way to kick this festival off! If you’re a fan of flavored coffees, Shakin’ Jamaican, horchata, or cinnamon — we definitely recommend giving this one a try.
