Disney announced that the Adventureland Treehouse will be opening on November 10th in Disneyland Resort. We already knew it’d be coming this fall, but we’re glad to have the official opening date now.

This attraction used to be Tarzan’s Treehouse, but it closed almost two years ago and is being updated with a Swiss Family Robinson theme. Disney is “capturing the spirit of the original treehouse that Walt Disney and his Imagineers built in 1962.”

Scaffolding around this attraction came down recently, but then we saw more go up, likely for some final touches.

The scaffolding is back

Inside the treehouse, you can see the mother’s music den, the father’s art studio, the son’s nature room, and the daughter’s astronomer’s loft. The story behind the treehouse is that the family created this “oasis among the trees inspired by nature and using objects found around them.”

The treehouse also includes the home’s water wheel, powered by a nearby small brook.”The family created a pulley system to deliver water from the stream high up into the tree, generating the energy needed to activate many of their gadgets and inventions.”

The daughter’s room is in the highest part of the treehouse, decorated in her abstract style. “An admirer of celestial bodies and their magnitudes, motions and magic, her room provides a clear view of the beautiful night sky.”

In the mother’s room, you’ll see musical instruments, “which she plays to fill the home with cheerful melodies.” The twin brothers’ room has a large collection of plants and animals, while the father’s studio “reflects the whole family’s affinity for exploring the unknown and designing the unimaginable.”
