The fall and winter are particularly busy times to visit Disney World.
From holiday celebrations and schools being released for said holidays, to folks flocking to the parks in hopes of experiencing Disney World without the excruciating heat, the months October through January will bring some pretty high crowds and LOTS of excitement. This year, things are particularly exciting, as Disney is celebrating 100 years of magic. The 100th Anniversary Celebration kicked off in EPCOT on September 22nd, and with that celebration brings a very important date!
December 5th, 2023 will mark the debut of the all-new EPCOT nighttime spectacular. Luminous: Symphony of Us will debut that night and replace the current show, EPCOT Forever.
Disney says that the show will invite viewers “to gather around World Showcase Lagoon for a show that will unite us through commonalities of the heart in a dazzling display of fireworks, lasers, music and light. Featuring an original composition along with select songs from the Disney songbook, this new spectacular will remind us that we’re more alike than different, connecting our hearts together as one.”
We can probably expect the opening night of the new show to be INCREDIBLY busy, and we can also probably expect the park to be busy all day long as folks are probably gonna spend the day in the park as they wait for the show to start.
We’d recommend going somewhere else for the majority of the day and hopping to EPCOT right before the show if you insist on seeing the show on its opening night. If you’re not worried about when you see it, crowds will probably lessen significantly throughout the week following the show’s debut.
