A Disneyland hotel restaurant is about to look VERY different.

Over at Disneyland Resort, there are quite a few hotel projects being worked on. Disneyland Hotel is in the middle of some major construction due to the new Disney Vacation Club tower being built there. And Paradise Pier Hotel is being rethemed to the Pixar Place Hotel. But now we’ve got more Disneyland news — and this time it has to do with one of the hotel restaurants.

Back in 2021, we shared that (according to the Orange County Register) Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel (along with PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel) was closed and would remain closed. The OCR reported that Disneyland officials noted that “options are being considered” for both locations. 

We had been keeping an eye out for updates on this area and now it seems we know what “option” Disney’s team has decided to go with when it comes to the future of Steakhouse 55.

Tables Are Gone

According to Scott Gustin via Twitter, Steakhouse 55 at Disneyland Hotel is “being converted into a flexible lounge space, which will sometimes operate as an extension of a seasonal bar.”

Reportedly, “There are no plans to bring back Steakhouse 55.” Work on the change from a restaurant to a lounge space is set to begin immediately and will include the removal of the restaurant’s marquee.

So it seems those who are big fans of Disney lounges will have something new to look forward to soon. Other details about this change have not been shared yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for more news.
