Disneyland’s Fantasmic! is still closed, at least for a little while longer.
The nightly performances of Fantasmic! were put on pause after the Maleficent dragon in the show caught fire. The show is temporarily suspended until further notice, but Disneyland has decided to offer some NEW nighttime entertainment to make up for the missing show.
So although you can’t see Fantasmic! right now in Disneyland, you will get a chance to see Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band every evening. The band will perform every night on a New Orleans-themed raft as they float down the Rivers of America. You can expect “high-energy New Orleans tunes, plus other Disney favorites.”
There will be three performances each evening, beginning at 7:35PM — all performance times will be listed in the Disneyland app as of July 21st. After their “energetic and interactive performances,” guests can still enjoy the 100th Anniversary fireworks show Wondrous Journeys through August 31st or Halloween Screams through October 31st.
Note that Disneyland’s fireworks do not take place EVERY night (some nights you’ll just get the projections on Main Street, U.S.A. and Sleeping Beauty Castle), so be sure to check the Disneyland app to find out if you’ll get to see the fireworks when you visit.
Disney has not yet released official details on when Fantasmic! might reopen, but there will soon be “additional entertainment joining New Orleans Square,” so there’s that to get excited about!
We’ll keep you updated when we learn more about that entertainment, as well as keep you updated on ALL Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
