Disney World is always working on SOMETHING — there’s construction EVERYWHERE.
Splash Mountain is in the middle of being converted into a NEW ride. EPCOT has seen a LOT of construction due to its massive transformation. Even some restaurants are getting worked on right now. Recently, though, we noticed that something was MISSING from a Disney World hotel.
If you’ve ever visited Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, you’ve probably seen the iconic band of gators with their musical instruments. There’s a gator with a bass drum, a gator with a banjo…
…a gator with cymbals and a gator playing the saxophone.
Well, now, we visited with the gators, except some of them were missing! So what’s going on here? So it seems like the gator with cymbals has decided to take a break. Meanwhile, the sax gator is still breaking out the jazzy tunes.
However, the gator with the banjo has also gone missing! Did they just get tired of playing all that peppy jazz music for guests? Did they just go off in search of snacks (we mean, there are Mickey Beignets here and we would TOTALLY understand that).
So only half of the gator jazz ensemble showed up for work today. We asked a Cast Member where they went and they said the two gators “got called away to band practice to make sure everything is working perfectly with their instruments.” The Cast Member also said that when those two gators return, the other two will go do the same. Based on that, it’s likely the gators are just getting a quick touch-up!
So if you go to Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, just know the Gator Quartet is now just a duet. But we’ll be keeping an eye out for those other two to reappear, and we’ll let you know when that happens.
