Yeah yeah yeah, Disney is a magical place with happy characters and exciting attractions. Yawn. Today, we’re not talking about the flashy stuff, like new Minnie ears or a special cocktail. Instead, we’re talking about something else. Something you probably won’t see in the heartwarming Disney World commercials or the official Disney World social media accounts. Let’s talk about bathrooms.

Can you believe that this is just a BATHROOM?!
Believe it or not, bathrooms are kind of a hot topic among Disney fans. If you’ve ever participated in the discourse around the Tangled bathrooms in Fantasyland (justice for Rapunzel — she deserves MORE!) or found yourself comparing restrooms from one park to another, you get it. Now, let’s talk toilets (or lack thereof).
No matter which Disney World park you find yourself in, chances are you’re never more than a few steps away from a bathroom. Even when Disney’s restrooms are temporarily closed, there’s usually a replacement nearby. They think of EVERYTHING in Disney World!

There are bathrooms all OVER the place in Disney World!
And just when you think you’ve got the lay of the land, Disney goes and opens up MORE bathrooms. These restrooms recently reopened over in EPCOT, and of course, we had to go check them out. Spoiler alert: they were nice and clean and looked brand-new!

World Discovery Bathrooms
Now, let’s shift gears and talk about Magic Kingdom for a second. This place is HUGE — there are so many different lands to explore that it can take all day to make your way around the park. Luckily, there are bathrooms all over the place in Magic Kingdom; who wants to hike all the way from Tomorrowland to Adventureland just to use the bathroom? We don’t have that kind of time!

Storybook Circus Restrooms
Interestingly, though, there is one section of the park where you CAN’T use the bathroom (because it doesn’t EXIST!). Fittingly, Liberty Square, the colonial section of the park, has no restrooms for guests. None. Not a one.

Liberty Square
Disney is known for its intricate details and commitment to the story, so since Liberty Square is set during colonial times, there aren’t any bathrooms in the area! After all, there was no indoor plumbing in 1776. If you want to get super technical, even the bathrooms in the Liberty Square restaurants technically fall outside of the boundaries of the land.

There are a TON of Imagineering details in this land!
Some Disney fans even believe that the brown pavement running through Liberty Square signifies the old-fashioned way people used to…dispose…of their business (if you know what we mean…).

You won’t find a single restroom in this area
Luckily, there are some beautiful bathrooms right outside Liberty Square. If you’re headed towards Fantasyland, you can visit the Tangled bathrooms right by the Haunted Mansion attraction.

Well, there you have it. Looks like there’s one place you CAN’T use the bathroom in Disney World after all. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
