Happy Easter, DFB readers!
If you celebrate, we hope you’re having an amazing day today. Here in Disney World, we’re checking out the crowds, catching you up on the special meet and greet happening in Magic Kingdom, and watching the holiday parade. This is notoriously a busy day in the park, so let’s see just how expensive it is to skip the lines today!
Not only is it Easter, but spring break crowds continue to dominate the park, so we’ve known crowds would likely be high for a while now. In fact, park passes for Magic Kingdom are completely sold out today! The parks being crowded also means that the price of Disney Genie+ stays high, and this was true today.
Today, it’ll cost you $35 per person to purchase Genie+ in Disney World. This is the highest price we’ve seen for Genie+ in Disney World, and it’s been this price for a few days in a row now as spring break season continues.

Disney Genie+ is the paid replacement for the old FastPass+ system. It wasn’t too long ago that Disney introduced variable or surge pricing for Genie+, meaning that the cost of this skip-the-line service will depend on the date of your visit. Up until recently, you’d pay $15 per person per day to utilize Genie+. With surge pricing, however, we’ve seen the cost range from $15 to $35 per person, per day. Magic Kingdom is certainly going to be busy today, so that high demand has led to a price increase. If you visit during a less busy time of year (like September or January), you’ll likely see lower Genie+ prices.

Crowds in Magic Kingdom
Note that Genie+ does NOT include the rides with Individual Lightning Lanes though. If you’re looking to ride one of these rides, you must pay an extra, separate fee:
- TRON Lightcycle / Run
- Seven Dwarves Mine Train
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Avatar: Flight of Passage
- Rise of The Resistance
These Individual Lightning Lanes can and do sell out quickly, so you’ll want to be ready as soon as they become available each morning. For people staying at Disney-owned hotels, they go on sale at 7AM; for all other visitors, they become available when Magic Kingdom opens.
And don’t forget that the normal Genie+ can sell out too, like Individual Lightning Lanes. We’ve seen it sell out several times recently, so make sure you purchase it ASAP if you plan to use it in the parks. You can begin buying Genie+ at midnight on the day of your visit.
