Can you believe 2023 is only one week away?!

Whether you’re ready or not, it’s coming up FAST — and next year is sure to be a big one for Disney World. Between new restaurants, attractions, and more, there are a lot of ongoing projects throughout the parks and resorts. Luckily, we’re keeping track of them all — so let’s check out the latest construction updates from around Disney World!

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

We got a HUGE update from the Walt Disney World Railroad — literally! We were some of the first guests invited aboard the beloved Magic Kingdom train which is now open for guests!

TRON: Lightcycle Run

Now we’ll be able to bring you updates from the PeopleMover, over near the Barnstormer, and from the Walt Disney World Railroad. TRON is slated to open in spring 2023, so stay tuned for more updates.

EPCOT

CommuniCore Hall & Plaza

CommuniCore Hall is building up AND out now! Here’s a look at what the construction looks like from the monorail.

At first this area doesn’t look like much, but from this angle we can see just how large this building is going to be! The area will also be home to CommuniCore Plaza and Dreamer’s Point!

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

Te Fiti is looking more and more at home over at Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. Some scaffolding has popped up close to the green fence, and we think more work is being done on some of the rocks or potentially some sort of boundary for the attraction.

The large rock structures are separated by a path that we can now see, and hopefully we’ll be able to walk through this immersive attraction soon. Disney shared it will open in late 2023!

Hollywood Studios

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

A few more fun decorations have been spotted over at Roundup Rodeo BBQ! We can see a giant pencil, a checkered flag, and what might be some more cardboard-style wall paneling.

This table-service spot was supposed to open by the end of 2022, but Disney recently shared an update — Roundup Rodeo BBQ will now open in 2023.

Disney Resort Hotels

Grand Floridian

There’s quite a bit of exterior work going on at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! These updates are part of Disney’s continued renovations on this resort.

Disney also recently shared that the Grand Floridian lobby would be undergoing renovations, and we can’t wait to bring you more updates from that project!

Polynesian Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is also undergoing renovations — a brand new DVC tower is being built that will be home to new guest rooms, dining options, merch locations, and more. For now, it looks like more ground leveling is taking place before crews can start going vertical. We’ll be sure to keep you updated!
