Since 1989, one Magic Kingdom ride has thrilled guests with a GIANT splash that often leaves them SOAKED but also feeling Satisfactual.
Yep, we’re talking about Splash Mountain, which will soon close FOREVER, to become a new attraction dedicated to The Princess and the Frog. So many guests are now trying to ride Splash Mountain before it closes, meaning that lines for the attraction are getting longer than ever. But we have a tip on how to ride it without long lines!
So you want to ride Splash Mountain one last time, but the line is SO long. What can you do? Well, first, if you’re going to Disney World soon, you might be in luck. Why? Because the weather is turning colder (yes, believe it or not, it CAN get cold in Florida).
NO ONE really wants to ride Splash Mountain (where you’ll get wet) when the weather is cold, so the lines are likely to be shorter. But even on warmer days that are still considered cool in Orlando (basically around 60 degrees), the lines for Splash Mountain, especially in the cooler mornings, are shorter. So keep that in mind!
Okay, so you might say, “But, DFB, who wants to get wet in the cold?” Well, we’ll just tell you to bring a raincoat or poncho that will protect your clothes (along with extra socks and maybe even shoes, if needed) if getting one last ride on Splash Mountain is a priority.
Splash Mountain will be closing on January 23rd, 2023 for its re-theme — and all we know so far about its reopening as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is that the timeline is late 2024, but we’ll keep you updated when we get more details. In the meantime, you can check out an inside look at the new ride, a model, and more details about the new attraction!
