MAJOR UPDATE on the NEW Cake Bake Shop Coming to Disney World

Our sweet tooths are back with a vengeance after the announcement of a new Disney World restaurant, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers.

Promising both sweet and savory options, this new spot is scheduled to open in 2023 at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. We cannot WAIT to sample all of the goodies. And while it isn’t fully open yet, we just got some more details on this highly-anticipated location!

Slated to arrive at the BoardWalk in 2023, The Cake Bake Shop will be open for brunch, lunch, and dinner so you can sample their tasty wares all day long. Disney just announced that you can pop in for a quick service treat by grabbing something to go at the bakery case! If you want to get a little fancy, you can step in for their afternoon tea service or choose to sit down for a table service meal.

We showed you some recent images of the construction walls as the restaurant began construction recently, but here’s a look at what you can expect from the finished product. It looks bright and airy, the perfect spot to enjoy some fresh-baked goods. The menu promises delicious items like brownies, dessert bars, cheesecakes, and, of course, handmade cakes alongside their more savory options.

If you’re wondering what to expect from the food, we were able to try out a different location of The Cake Bake Shop in Indianapolis! There are two locations in the city: one at Broad Ripple Village (the original location) and another in the Carmel City Center. The atmosphere inside is very upscale while remaining grounded, with a soft pastel color palette and tons of florals to offset the fanciful marble and gold finishing.

Croque Monsieur

We were able to sample both savory and sweet items from their menu. The Croque Monsieur was delicious, with perfectly melted cheese and tasty French ham on country bread. The portions were generous as well.

Marie Antoinette

This massive macaron is called the Lemon Blueberry Marie Antoinette. Each macaron shell sandwiches a filling of pastry cream, fresh lemon curd, and lemon and blueberry buttercream. It sounds like this and other sweet treats will be available at the restaurant’s quick service counter!

We anticipate the BoardWalk location of The Cake Bake Shop to retain this strong theming. With all of the buzz, we hope they have a generous amount of seating, because there will surely be a line out the door. Luckily, now we know you can get some treats lickety-split if you don’t feel like waiting!
