There have been a lot of big projects happening with the Disney World hotels recently.
We’ve seen countless room updates over the past few years, as well as new restaurants added, lobby refurbishments, and more. If you’re staying in a Disney Resort during your vacation, it’s important to know what refurbishments or construction projects are happening so that you know if they’ll impact your stay…and now there’s a scheduled power outage coming up for one hotel!
We walked into Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House today and were greeted by this sign in the lobby. It notifies guests that there will be a scheduled power outage on December 8th-9th from 11:59PM-3AM. It starts shortly before midnight on Thursday and goes into the early morning hours of Friday.
During those three hours, work will be conducted that will temporarily affect electrical power in the guest rooms, so keep that in mind if you’re staying there tonight. Most guests will likely be sleeping at that time, but if you have any questions or need assistance in any way, see the Cast Members at the front desk of the resort.
We’ve seen this happen in the past for scheduled maintenance at other resorts, so it’s not anything particularly unusual.
Shortly after, we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village and found a similar sign! This sign says that there will be a power outage on December 9th from 2AM-4AM. So the outages will affect both parts of the resort, just at different times overnight.
We’ll keep an eye on the situation and let you know if anything major changes with the power outage, so stay tuned to DFB. For the latest updates from Disney during your visit, make sure to download the My Disney Experience app and allow notifications on your device. Disney often sends out alerts that way.
