The 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays has officially launched in Disney World!
In between all the cookies we’ve been eating, we’ve also been visiting holiday food booths, like L’Chaim and the Tuscany Holiday Kitchen, and now it’s time to revisit all the returning items at a popular spot!
It’s time to sing 🎶Mele Kalikimaka!🎶 Disney’s Hawaiian Christmas-themed festival food booth is back for the third year.
It’s time to take a look at the menu!
Menu
The menu for Mele Kalikimaka includes three returning items, such as the Kālua Pork, Lomi Lomi Salmon, and Haupia.
When it comes to drinks, choose from the Kona Brewing Co. Big Wave Golden Ale, Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Pineapple Wine, and the Melon Breeze with Spiced Rum.
Food
Let’s start with the Kālua Pork, served with Okinawa purple sweet potatoes and mango salad for $5.50. We’ve historically enjoyed this dish, although last year we thought a little more mango would be ideal. The pork was a little dry this year but we got a lot more mango, which was great! The mango, sweet potatoes, and pork paired beautifully together, although we didn’t love getting just a bite of the mango and sweet potato together without pork.
Next up is the Lomi Lomi Salmon, which is back for $6. This dish is gluten and wheat-friendly, and it comes with tomatoes, onions, salmon roe, yuzu-mayonnaise, and yuca chips. The salmon was super tasty but a bit salt-heavy this year. The chips had a great crispy texture and we particularly loved the combo of the salmon and the chips.
Haupia is also back! This Hawaiian coconut pudding with candied Macadamia nuts and coconut is $4.50, and it’s still one of our favorites! The cake is light and the coconut pudding is absolutely delicious. The coconut flavor wasn’t too strong and overall, it’s basically the perfect treat on a hot summer day.
Now what about the drinks?
Beverages
Beverages
The Melon Breeze with Spiced Rum is back again this year, and it costs $14. This is a super sweet drink with a strong melon flavor, and it’s really good as long as you like sweet drinks.
The Florida Orange Grove Sparkling Pineapple Wine is another returning drink for $12.50, and it’s one of those really refreshing drinks that are perfect with the weather is warm.
If you’re looking for a beer, you can get the Big Wave Golden Ale from Kona Brewing Co., which you can order as a 6-ounce drink for $5.50 or a 12-ounce drink for $9.50.
Overall
Once again, Mele Kalikimaka’s booth has shined with both the food and the drinks. It serves different foods that aren’t necessarily going to be found anywhere else in EPCOT and we loved everything!
