Review: The Treat That's Holding on to Pumpkin Spice Season for Dear Life in Disney World

There is a lot happening around Disney World right now.

Buffets are BACK at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, Kona Cafe has reopened at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, construction has started on the iconic Grand Floridian gingerbread house, and a TON of new treats have been released at many of the Disney World hotels. Speaking of treats, we are back with ANOTHER review of a new item that has been released to celebrate Thanksgiving time.

Christmas decor is up in Magic Kingdom, a holiday Starbucks cup has arrived, and holiday merchandise fills the shelves. But one treat in Disney World is holding on to pumpkin spice season for DEAR LIFE. 😆

The holidays have arrived, but one treat would have you believe otherwise!

Over at Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort you can find a Pumpkin Cheesecake. It should be available from now until November 27th!

This cheesecake is made with pumpkin spice caramel and maple whipped cream, and it’s topped with fall leaf sprinkles as well as a chocolate leaf. Contempo Cafe releases some pretty amazing treats from time to time (We’re looking at you Peanut Butter Pie.) so we were excited to give this one a try!

In terms of pure looks, it’s nothing tremendously special. The little chocolate leaf on top is a nice touch, but it’s not something that’ll necessarily blow away your Instagram followers. But it’s the inside that counts, right?

Pumpkin Cheesecake Time!

So how does it taste? Well, it actually had a nice, strong pumpkin spice flavor in the cheesecake which was good! And the pumpkin spice flavor actually worked really well with the caramel sauce.

We also liked the theme here with the pumpkin spice cheesecake sort of serving as the Thanksgiving turkey, the sauce representing gravy, and the whipped cream serving as the “mashed potatoes.”

What Do You Think?

But it wasn’t all good news for our cheesecake friend. The consistency of the cheesecake itself was a little too mushy (in a not-so-great way) and it didn’t feel as thick as some good cheesecakes can be. The portion size was also quite small for its $5.99 price tag.

Still, if you love things that taste like pumpkin spice and you simply MUST have all things fall, then this might be one you’ll enjoy. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a bigger dessert (hey, can you blame a person for loving sweets?!), or want a more traditional, thick cheesecake, head elsewhere!
