Hurricane Ian hit Florida hard, leaving many areas of the state completely destroyed.
This weather disaster has left many victims in its wake, and they’re in need of resources and supplies. So, if you’re looking for a way to help, we’ve compiled a list of resources for you.
Here are some organizations in need of help:
American Red Cross: Blood donors are critically needed, especially individuals with Type O blood. Click here to make an appointment to donate blood. Monetary donations are also welcomed — call 800-RED-CROSS, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Additionally, click here to make a monetary donation.
Salvation Army: This organization provides shelter, food, drinks, emergency services, and other necessities to Hurricane Ian victims. You can support their services by donating through their website here, or by phone — 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769).
Florida Disaster Fund: This is the state’s private fund that’s established to help residents recover from disasters, including Hurricane Ian. Click here to make a donation.
Feeding Florida: This organization helps provide food to Hurricane Ian victims. If you live in Florida, you can help by donating food and supplies to your local food bank.
FEMA: FEMA’s providing emergency services, cleanup, and other assistance to areas hit hard by Hurricane Ian. Click here to make a donation or find a volunteer opportunity.
If you want to help Cast Members who are in need of resources, you can donate to the Cast Member Pantry. This organization helps keep Cast Members fed. Click here to donate or find a volunteer opportunity.
Tervis has a new “Together We Shine” tumbler for sale now, and all proceeds from this design will go to Hurricane Ian relief through the Volunteer Florida’s Disaster Fund. Click here to purchase the tumbler for $21.99.
These are only some of the ways you can help victims of Hurricane Ian. Your local charities and groups may also have ways you can provide your own resources and donations. And if you’re hoping to volunteer in Florida, you may be able to offer that assistance to an organization in need of helpers.
We’ll let you know if we find any other ways to help those affected by the storm, so stay tuned to DFB.
