UPDATE: Orlando International Airport is currently experiencing delays due to weather. Find out more here.
Air travel can be a bit tricky right now.
There have been thousands of delays and cancelations of flights, as well as some issues with baggage. A lot of these issues have been said to be due to staffing issues, but there’s another problem you have to think about when flying — the weather. And, an important weather update is now affecting the airport in Orlando.
A ground stop has been issued for Orlando International Airport due to thunderstorms in the area. It should last through 4:45PM ET, but could be extended.
Orlando International Airport retweeted a tweet from the National Weather Service in Florida saying that showers and storms would develop this afternoon into the evening with heavy rainfall. The airport said to check with your airline directly for updates, but to check the National Airspace System website for airport updates.
Due to weather/thunderstorms, airline operations may be impacted with flight delays/cancellations and baggage delivery delays. ⛈️ Please check with your airline directly for any updates in regards to their ops. For general airport delays, visit: https://t.co/vm0yMYHkcv https://t.co/X05aAXFf6y
