It’s time to get SPICY. 🔥
We’ve tried plenty of spicy food at Disney World and Disneyland over time including spicy cookies, dumplings, and beignets. The list of Disney snacks with ghost pepper in them is pretty small (though we did just try CHURROS with ghost pepper), but it just got a little bigger thanks to a new spooky season snack over at Disney California Adventure!
That’s right — Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk Dining is now offering Ghost Pepper Nachos for a limited time! We grabbed a table at the restaurant and put on our brave pants before trying this spicy snack. The nachos are made with charred ghost pepper-marinated chicken, smoky ghost pepper cheese sauce, black bean purée, avocado tomatillo salsa, and seasoned tomatoes. Lots of ghost pepper in here, but just how spicy are these nachos? We’ve tried something similar to these before at Lamplight Lounge, and found them to be pretty mild, so let’s see how they stack up!
Spoiler alert: these are VERY SPICY! The ghost pepper coating on the chicken is very spicy — it burned our reporter’s tongue and lips. The ghost pepper cheese sauce is rich and creamy but doesn’t have too much spice, and the black bean purée helps to balance out the heat, as well. But then you get to the tomatillo salsa, which is spicy, and you’re right back where you started again!Â
The chips are crispy and lightly salted without being greasy, and the tomatoes and cilantro add a freshness to the nachos, as well. We would definitely recommend this to someone who likes spicy food, but anyone who can’t hold their heat should probably choose something else. If you’re interested in them, you can grab the nachos for $23.
To cool off after those nachos, we also tried the new Chile-Ginger Pork Belly Sliders! These are made with chili-ginger glazed crispy pork belly and Asian slaw on baguette buns. Let’s dig in!
So, our first thought is that these aren’t really sliders. They’re pretty much just a sandwich that’s been cut into thirds — but that’s okay! We will say that the baguette is tough to bite through and because of the glaze on the pork belly, it’s super slippery and just kind of falls out.
Taste-wise, though, the chile-ginger glaze is good. It has a sharp taste thanks to the ginger, and some sweetness, as well. We also thought the slaw added a good crunch, but it also adds to the overall messiness of the slider. When we tried it, the pork belly was a little on the fattier side, but we didn’t mind it too much. It was also grilled so it had a more crispy exterior. You can grab the Chile-Ginger Pork Belly Sliders for $22!
We also tried the seasonal One Last Toast drink which is Patrón Silver Tequila, cucumber simple syrup, tamarind simple syrup, and fresh lime juice, garnished with a marigold.
We liked this drink a lot! It had the potential to be overly sweet with two simple syrups, but it wasn’t. It had a very subtle sweetness and a good tartness, as well. Our reporter who tried it said that it smelled like a cucumber lime agua fresca, but tasted more like a cucumber margarita! You can grab it for $18.
These are all seasonal offerings, so they’re only around for a little while, so make sure to grab them fast if you want to try one! There are over 50 seasonal treats you can try at Disneyland Resort, so be sure to check out the full list.

We also created a list of things to do in Anaheim outside of Disneyland, so be sure to check out some of those attractions when making plans!
