We LOVE a good surprise in Disney World.
TONS of character meet-and-greets have returned to Disney World and we’re back to hugging characters and getting autographs, but there are a few characters that are still missing — and sometimes Disney gives you a SECRET way to visit a rare character!
If you want to visit Disney Princesses, you can typically meet Elena, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Cinderella at Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom, but sometimes a special visiting princess is there instead! Today, we noticed a mystery princess was visiting alongside Cinderella and our curiosity got the best of us. After all, the standby wait time was only 35 minutes!
We entered Fairytale Hall wondering who the mystery princess could be. We’ve seen Jasmine as well as Snow White visiting in the past, but could this be someone else?
The hall is filled with colorful portraits of Disney Princesses to view during your wait in line. Of course, you can also opt to use the Lightning Lane to bypass the standby line if you’ve purchased Genie+ for the day.
When it comes to the portraits, we saw Tiana, Rapunzel…
…Snow White, Mulan…
…Aurora…
…and Jasmine!
We finally reached the end of the line and we got to meet Cinderella first. She was as lovely as usual but then we finally made it to the surprise princess!
Ta-da! It was ARIEL! Although this hasn’t always been the case, Ariel is currently one of the rarer character meet-and-greets in Disney World since her character meeting spot (Ariel’s Grotto) is still closed. You can meet other Disney Princesses in a variety of locations around Disney World, but Ariel isn’t often seen outside of parades right now.
We were SO excited to see her and we’re keeping our eyes peeled for any Disney announcements regarding Ariel’s Grotto. Recently, Merida and Peter Pan meet-and-greets returned to Magic Kingdom, so maybe Ariel’s turn is next!
Until Ariel’s Grotto reopens, you may be able to catch her in the Princess Fairytale Hall. Keep following DFB for more Disney World news and updates!
