It’s one of the best days of the year: Dole Whip Day!
We love you, Dole Whip!
Dole Whip Day is the third Thursday in July and celebrates all things Dole Whip! Whether that’s the classic pineapple swirl, or something more wild like the Dole Whip Watermelon Taco, today is all about the popular Disney treat. Today, we had the opportunity to head to Swirls on the Water at Disney Springs to try a fun Dole Whip creation. Here’s what we thought!
Introducing: the Sangria Float. It’s classic pineapple Dole Whip served over red wine sangria and even comes with a pineapple slice!
Sangria Float
This treat is as refreshing as it sounds! It’s a great option for a hot day, especially if you like sangria. The sangria really adds to the flavor of the pineapple from the soft-serve and overall gives the whole thing a nice boozy kick. This drink looks and tastes like vacation! If you’re a fan of sangria or tropical drinks (what’s more tropical than a pineapple garnish?), and you’re looking for an alcoholic treat, this one is for you.
It’s even got a slice of pineapple!
One thing we did notice about the float is that a straw is definitely not the best tool to eat it with. The ratio of sangria to soft-serve is a little off, and once it starts to melt or you stir to mix it all up, it becomes too thick to sip it through a straw. We think that some more sangria would have elevated the flavor and the consistency. That being said, at $10.99 per drink, it’s a little pricey for what you get. But it does include alcohol, which makes it fit into the typical alcoholic drink price range in Disney World.
