More character meet and greets have returned to Disney World!

We recently saw Snow White, Aladdin, and Jasmine return to Magic Kingdom, and that’s just the beginning! Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, characters have returned to Star Wars Launch Bay. Before Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, this was the go-to spot to meet Star Wars characters in Disney World. We’ve seen Darth Vader and Chewbacca meeting here, and now, another friend from a galaxy far, far away has joined them!

BB-8 is now meeting guests at Star Wars Launch Bay! You can head over to this Hollywood Studios spot and snap a pic with the adorable droid. We decided to stop by and say hello! When we got to the Launch Bay, we took a look at the wait times for each of the meet-and-greets, and Chewbacca and BB-8 were only a 10-minute wait (Darth Vader had a little bit longer of a wait at 15 minutes).

We only had to wait 10 minutes to meet BB-8!

After our brief wait, it was finally time to meet him! BB-8 is a round droid that is first seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and can be seen around Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, as well.

He sits on a small pedestal, and guests stand next to him for photos. He will also engage with you by whirring, beeping, and moving around his pedestal.

Note that when we visited today, there was no PhotoPass photographer taking photos, but instead, there was a Cast Member snapping pics with guests’ phones! This may vary day to day, so what you experience here could be different.

While you’re in the area, make sure you visit Chewbacca and Darth Vader, who are also back at Launch Bay! This is also a great place to cool off from the summer heat, and what better way to get out of the sun than with some Star Wars characters?
