The Peanut Butter Crisis is OVER at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney World!

The past few years have been challenging for Disney World.

Not only have we seen so many changes in health and safety policies, but supply issues have affected merchandise, and even food shortages have impacted what you can find at Disney World restaurants. And, the most recent victim of the shortage? Peanut butter. If you’re not familiar, there was a recall on Jif peanut butter, which made it harder to find eats and drinks featuring the ingredient in Disney World — but now, some of the snacks are returning!

Last month, Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs announced its limited flavors for May — the Peanut Butter Crunch Cookie, Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookie, and PB&J Cake Slices — were impacted by the recall and would not be available. Instead, these items were replaced on the menu by Coffee Cake Cookies, Dark Coffee Cake Cookies, and the Original Red Velvet Cake Slices.

Well, we’ve got some good news — Gideon’s has recovered from the peanut butter shortage, and for this weekend only (June 4th-5th), guests can grab the Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Limited Edition Cookies and the PB&J Cake Slices!

You’ll also be able to get the Dark Coffee Cake Slices on Saturday, June 4th. But, there’s one item on the menu that we’ll be bidding adieu soon — Gideon’s shared that June will be the last month to get the Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew.

And, if you plan on heading to Gideon’s, you might want to carve out some extra time in your day — on busier days (which tend to be Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and sometimes Mondays), guests need to join a virtual queue by visiting the store (head to the spot underneath the gargoyle) and providing a phone number — you’ll receive a text when it’s your turn to enter the shop. If you’d prefer to visit when there’s no virtual queue, Gideon’s Bakehouse recommends aiming to get the goods on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
