It’s not easy to pick a favorite Disney World park; it’s like asking us to pick a favorite child! We love all four parks for different reasons; EPCOT is a foodie’s paradise, Magic Kingdom is a charming escape from reality, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has tons of thrilling attractions, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is full of stunning areas just waiting to be explored!
This park is SO pretty!
Today, though, we’re here to give Disney’s Animal Kingdom a little extra attention. We found a fun hidden detail that even the Disney park EXPERT might not have noticed! Prepare to have your mind BLOWN! 🤯
No matter which area of Animal Kingdom you wander into, you’re bound to find some immersive theming and thoughtfully-designed lands. Even a little quick-service seating area is filled to the brim with African art, decorations, and architecture. (Plus, there are some little nods to Disney in there, too!)
There is some fun art in Animal Kingdom!
Right outside of the entrance to Harambe Market is this fun, folk-art-style Mickey Mouse mural labeled “Fichwa Fellow!” “Fichwa” means “hidden” in Swahili, so it’s literally a hidden Mickey. This little mural has become somewhat of an Animal Kingdom icon — there’s even fichwa fellow merchandise!
He’s over by the Harambe Market!
You probably knew about that hidden Mickey already, but did you know that there’s a Donald Duck mural nearby? You can only see him if you take a ride on the Wildlife Express; you can spot him on your way back to the Harambe Station in Africa! He’s actually right behind the famous Mickey mural, but most people never even notice him!
There’s a fun fact for ya!
