When you were younger, you may have owned one of those plastic telescoping Star Wars lightsaber toys. They were fun and all, but now that you’re older, you’ve evolved — and so have the Star Wars lightsabers!

It’s easy to miss this little shop, but what’s inside is well worth a visit!
Star Wars fans have been waiting for a new legacy lightsaber for a pretty long time, and now Disney FINALLY shared some new details on an upcoming release! Hold onto your hats, people, this is BIG news!
If you’re unfamiliar with the term “legacy lightsaber,” it’s basically a super-realistic-looking, movie-accurate lightsaber. These bad boys are a little more expensive than your run-of-the-mill Star Wars lightsaber, and they’re only available in Disney World, Disneyland, and (sometimes) shopDisney.

Legacy lightsabers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Back in 2020, Disney ran a special poll asking fans to vote for the legacy lightsaber hilt that they wanted to see at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. About one month later, the winner was revealed to be Cal Kestis’s lightsaber from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order! After that, all that was left to do was WAIT (and wait…and wait).

Well, Disney FINALLY shared an update on the new legacy lightsaber hilt! The long-awaited Cal Kestis lightsaber hilt is coming to Dok-Ondar’s on March 25th EXCLUSIVELY at Disneyland Resort and Disney World!

Disney explained that the special broken end design is modeled after the damaged lightsaber Cal Kestis acquires in the game. As the story goes, this lightsaber is only able to emit a single blade.

If you’re interested in a little upgrade, the lightsaber hilt comes with a dual lightsaber adapter. This way, guests can recreate the original double-bladed design from back when the lightsaber was owned by Cal’s master Jaro Tapal. Keep in mind that you’ll need to purchase a second hilt to recreate this version of the lightsaber.

This has the potential to be a SUPER popular new item, so if you want one of these new legacy lightsaber hilts, you might want to travel to Batuu as soon as you can! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates!
