We Love Turning Red!
We are OBSESSED with that movie. First, you’ve got an adorable red panda (with even more adorable merchandise available). Then you’ve got the boy band 4*Town (yes, we all have a favorite member). Then you’ve got a touching story about the complicated relationship between teen girls and their mothers. Now, you can bring Mei as the iconic red panda STRAIGHT into your living room.
How? Google has an AR filter that puts a dancing red panda, aka Mei, into any scene you choose. Here’s how to access it: first, do a Google search in the Google app for “Turning Red.”
Scroll down and you’ll see “See Red Panda Mei in your space” — you’ll want to click on “View in 3D.”
Dancing Red Panda Mei will appear on your phone’s screen! But what you really want to do is click on “View in your space.”
You’ll be prompted to move your phone a certain way and then Dancing Panda Mei will appear right in front of you — for example, in your living room! (Note: the following is a screenshot, but in the AR, she is actually moving and dancing — and it’s hysterical!)
You’re sure to have a lot of fun with this, and yes, you might lose an hour or two playing around with Dancing Panda Mei. But we won’t judge — it’s super fun!
