We love trying unique snacks at Disney World, but sometimes we gotta take it back to the basics!
While we love exploring all of the food options the parks have to offer, like this St. Patrick’s Day inspired poutine, or this super photogenic dessert, sometimes we just need good ol’ fashioned theme park food. We tried this classic treat over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently, and it did not disappoint!
This Chocolate Covered Apple from the Trolley Car Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios was just the staple theme park dessert we needed! It had a green apple covered in milk chocolate with chocolate covered marshmallows forming Mickey ears, and a Butterfinger crumble around the bottom. It’s pretty much the apple version of our favorite Butterfinger Cupcake with a few missing components, of course!
We have a love hate relationship with apples like these. They are mega yummy but they are so hard to eat!! When it comes to this apple, the milk chocolate was smooth, and was a sweet contrast to the tartness of the green apple. The marshmallows were also a nice change in texture from the apple.
We loved the crunch of the Butterfinger around the bottom! It reminded us of a less-healthy version of the classic apples-and-peanut butter snack!
The chocolate did melt pretty fast, and we kind of wished that there was a layer of caramel under the chocolate to further compliment the Butterfinger, but this was an all-around solid candy apple that we were excited to try in the parks!
If you want your hands to stay clean, you might want to consider another treat in Hollywood Studios, but if you love chocolate, apples, and peanut butter, then give this snack a try! You can find it at Trolley Car Cafe for $10.99. We’re always staying up to date on all the latest in all things Disney Parks, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
