In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Harambe Market is one of the more underrated spots in the park, featuring a wide range of delicious options! Since its reopening in late 2020, we’ve been wowed by the delicious ribs and chicken, salads, and cocktails we found at this spot (keep an eye for that shave ice cart, it pops up every now and then!).
Recently, we stopped by Harambe Market to try out one of their vegetarian options!
We’re trying the Hot Link Bowl, which features Plant-Based Sausage, Cilantro Rice, Mixed Greens, and Salsa and is available for $12.99!
To be honest folks, this one didn’t work for us. The sausage was a little bit grainy and dry and wasn’t as crisp on the outside as it appears. The sweetness of the salad dressing didn’t really mix with the spicy sausage either, so the dish just didn’t mesh together well.
On top of that, the cilantro rice didn’t have much of a cilantro flavor (as you can see, this dish was a bit of a hot mess all around). Issues aside, the meal wasn’t absolutely terrible, especially if you are used to the taste and texture plant-based meat. This is a filling vegetarian option in Animal Kingdom and could come in handy if you can’t find another vegetarian dish you like!

However, there are some better vegetarian options around the park, especially the Vegetable Tikka Masala at Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes (which is the quick service, not the table service one) and the Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl over at Satu’li Canteen.
Not every Disney dish can be a winner! We’re sad to see that this wasn’t as delicious as we expected, but we’re glad that we grabbed it so we could tell you all about it. It’s far from the worst thing we’ve ever had at Disney World, but it definitely wasn’t one of the best. Stay tuned for more food reviews from the Disney parks!
