It’s almost 2022!
There are plenty of ways to celebrate whether you are at Disney World, Disneyland, fan-favorite restaurants, or on your couch! We’ve already given you a look at the return of New Year’s fireworks in Magic Kingdom and we’ve tried a returning New Year’s cupcake, but now we’re checking out another 2022-inspired treat!
If you want to countdown to 2022 with a sweet treat, head over to BoardWalk Bakery! We picked up the 2022 Mickey Cupcake and it’s SO festive!
2022 Mickey Cupcake!
This cupcake is made with vanilla cake and a root beer gelee, and it’s topped with vanilla whipped cream and a red white chocolate Mickey covered in stars and “2022.” AND it has the most adorable white chocolate red and gold sparkly “fireworks!”
It’s time to ring in 2022!
The topper looks pretty similar to the New Year’s Eve cupcake from Disney’s Animal Kingdom last year but has completely different flavors. So let’s see how this New Year’s cupcake tastes!
So cute and festive
We loved the vanilla whipped cream! It was super light and not too sweet, but we did kind of wish there was a lot more of it. In fact, we’d take more whipped cream over the chocolate toppers!

This cupcake was really moist and fresh and the root beer gelee was surprisingly good! It did add a bit of an odd texture to the cupcake but it worked well anyway because there wasn’t a ton of it.

Overall, the 2022 Cupcake was a bit on the bland side so some people might wish it had more flavors than vanilla and root beer. But the root beer gelee was really fun and if you’re a root beer fan you might really enjoy it!

This cupcake is perfect for someone who prefers more cake in their cupcakes, but if you’re a big chocolate or icing fan this cupcake might not work for you. We think kids would really love the root beer flavor and the fun glittery chocolate fireworks!
