It’s no secret, we LOVE ourselves a good cupcake!

There’s definitely no shortage of cupcakes around Disney World, much to our delight! With everything from seasonal flavors, to celebratory designs, there are tons of cupcake confections to choose from.

One thing we’ve noticed about a lot of the cupcakes we’ve tried around Disney World is that they’re often LOADED with icing. But if you’re more “Team Cake” than “Team Icing” (we see you!), there’s a new bakery open near Disney World that has you covered!

Click Orlando reports that The Naked Cupcake opened its first brick-and-mortar bakery in Orlando’s Lake Nona area this morning!

The business was started by Sandra Shorter as a food truck back in 2016. In fact, we even saw The Naked Cupcake food truck pop up at Fort Wilderness earlier this year!

The concept and name of The Naked Cupcake came from Shorter’s own experience as a picky eater. By keeping the cupcakes unfrosted — or naked — and decorating them to order, other people with particular preferences can finally find their perfect treat.

But she also believes the cake is just as good without any toppings! “One of the things that I love about our cupcakes is you can just eat them by themselves. They’re amazing.”

The new store will feature a sign that lights up when fresh, warm cupcakes are available to buy. You can swing by The Naked Cupcake at 14009 Narcoosee Road if you’d like to try out one of these custom confections for yourself!
