If you’ve never visited Disney’s Polynesian Resort, you’re missing out on some delicious food!
Even if you aren’t staying in a Polynesian room, it’s worth a visit just to check out the MANY food options at the resort. From restaurants like Kona Cafe to ‘Ohana to other spots like Pineapple Lanai and Trader Sam’s, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. Come along with us as we snack at the Polynesian!
Today we stopped by counter service location Kona Island at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to snack on the Banana Macadamia Nut Bread, which you can find in the bakery case along with other unique pastry offerings you might not find anywhere else in Disney World.
The Banana Macadamia Nut Bread is $3.49, and you get your very own loaf of banana nut goodness! In the past, we’ve seen this loaf appear seasonally, and it’s usually available in the morning until 11AM.
For ONLY $3.49, you get a really nice portion of bread! Aside from the obvious ingredients of bananas and macadamia nuts, we also tasted a strong cinnamon flavor, and the loaf wasn’t overly sweet.
The cinnamon taste and thickness of the loaf reminded us more of coffee cake than banana bread, but it was extremely moist and we loved the crunch from all the nuts.
Surprisingly, we didn’t get a strong banana flavor from the loaf as the cinnamon flavor really overpowered the banana. Also, you might want to grab a bunch of napkins to eat this treat because it’s MESSY. The nuts are held on top by a sticky glaze that got all over our hands!
If you’re looking for a semi sweet breakfast or snack, the Banana Macadamia Nut Bread would be a great option! It definitely gets bonus points for the portion size and for being under $5. If you’re not a coffee cake or cinnamon fan, steer clear.
Stop by Kona Island in Disney’s Polynesian Resort to try the Banana Macadamia Nut Bread for $3.49. And keep checking back with DFB for more food reviews around Disney World!
