The holiday season is getting closer and closer every day!
We’re still in the middle of Halloween with the Disney After Hours Boo Bash, and the 50th Anniversary celebrations kick off in a few weeks, but before you know it, we’ll be decking the halls for Christmas! And if you’re planning a visit to Disney World to experience the hotel decor, the Very Merriest After Hours event, or all that’s going on around the parks and Disney Springs, then we’ve got some important information on Disney Resort pricing that you need to know!
We took a look at the Walt Disney World website during the week of Christmas from December 19th through December 26th at the prices for the tiers of Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resorts.
The Value Resorts regularly start as low as $112, depending on the season. However, the least pricey options of the on-property Disney hotels are a lot more expensive than usual due to the time of the year. The starting price we saw during Christmas Week was $221 per night at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort or Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, ranging all the way up to a minimum of $310 at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The Moderate tier also has some high fluctuations in its pricing, differing from its starting point at around $220 per night. Instead, the least expensive hotel option was over at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort for $351 per night, followed by Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter at $383.
Next up, we’ve got Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside at a minimum of $395 per night and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at $402. However, the prices LEAPT up to $690 (!!!) per night for the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge, surpassing the lowest price for the Deluxe Resorts during that same week.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge sits at the “cheapest” price point for the Deluxe Resorts at $668 per night, which is a huge hike compared to its base cost that usually would be around $430. A few of the other Deluxe Resorts have offers in the range of $729 to $774 per night, like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Beach Club.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resorts still don’t quite reach the peak of $1,000 per night, making Disney’s Grand Floridian and Disney Contemporary Resorts the most expensive hotels during Christmas Week at $1,016 and $1,055 respectively.
The holiday season is going to have a lot to offer this year, with the new event Disney Very Merriest After Hours plus celebrations across the other parks, like Sunset Seasons Greetings at Hollywood Studios. There will be exclusive merchandise and snacks across the resort and decorations all over! Several celebrations and offerings are returning to Disney Springs and the Resorts as well, including the gingerbread displays that were absent last year. It’s no wonder that prices are so high!
Of course, prices could fluctuate over the coming months with more or less availability at the resorts. But, if you do plan on heading to Disney World during Christmas, it is expected to be a busy time of the year. You may want to look into booking your hotels sooner rather than later, as resorts and Park Passes could sell out quickly. In the meantime, stay tuned with DFB for the latest Disney news you need to know!
