Planning a Trip To Disney’s Vero Beach Resort? You’ll Want To Know About An Upcoming Closure!

The summer will be here sooner than you know it, which means that a lot of Disney-goers will be headed for the resort pool at some point during their stay.

The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation

Disney tends to prepare for the summer pool crowds throughout the winter season, with refurbishments happening when most guests aren’t hitting the pool to cool off. In 2021, the Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort got an update, along with some refurbishments at other hotels. Now Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is planning for a refurbishment of their own.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is located on the coast of Florida, just two hours southeast of Walt Disney World. And, if you’re planning a trip there, you’ll want to know about an upcoming closure that Disney has slated for the pool area.

Previously, Disney’s website indicated that the Tiger Lily Wet Play Area would close for refurbishment beginning September 7th through November 2021. The Feature Pool was set to remain open during this time, so guests will still be able to take a dip in the Mickey Mouse-shaped pool during their stay. Plus, guests would also have access to the Atlantic Beach where they can rent boogie boards, sailboats, jet skis, kayaks, and banana boats, or pick up a chair and umbrella for a more relaxing day on the beach.

UPDATE: This refurbishment schedule has since been updated. The Disney website now notes that the Tiger Lily Wet Play Area will be closed for refurbishment from January 3rd, 2022, through March 2022. The Vero Beach Feature Pool and Pirate’s Plunge Pool Slide will still be open for guests to enjoy.
