This past week was the start of spring break season at Disney World!

Cinderella Castle
Even before the week started, we had noticed that Park Pass availability for the week was filling up fast! Disney even extended park hours in anticipation of crowds. As the week progressed, we saw what might have been the busiest week at Disney World since the reopening!
Here’s the thing, though — the parks are still operating at limited capacity, so these crowds are NOTHING like an at capacity Disney World in the past. We can say that we were surprised by spring break weekend because there were times when we were wondering where all the people were!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom felt a little packed at times on both Saturday and Sunday, but groups seemed to be able to continue to maintain social distancing without a problem.

Tree of Life
Compared to how we’ve seen it pre-closure, Pandora was almost a ghost town at times! Maybe it’s because everyone was waiting in line to ride Na’vi River Journey and Flight of Passage, which both saw wait times of just a little over an hour while we were there. But those are pretty low compared to wait times pre-closure.

Pandora
Dinoland, U.S.A. was also pretty quiet. People were there, but this isn’t even close to typical of what we’ve previously seen on Spring Break.

Dinoland, U.S.A.
Ride lines have occasionally made certain areas feel more congested, but still nothing like what we’ve seen before.

Expedition Everest
All in all, there WERE people at Animal Kingdom, but things weren’t as busy as we might have expected.

EPCOT
It was about the same over at EPCOT, although morning crowds were fairly light throughout the weekend.

Spaceship Earth
There WERE a lot of people at EPCOT, but, again, social distancing is not a problem.

EPCOT World Showcase
We did notice, however, that the Zodiac Garden was moved away from the Frozen Ever After line (which often reaches to the China Pavilion).

Moved back away from the line.
Walking around the World Showcase was pretty easy, actually. It’s hard to believe it’s a Spring Break weekend!

Mexico, though, as always, was hopping.

There’s usually a line to get in to the Pavilion there, even on the slower days!

Magic Kingdom
Mornings on spring break weekend were REALLY quiet at Magic Kingdom. At times, we were wondering where the people were!

Main Street, U.S.A.
Frontierland had a crowd at one point, though, but people were mostly just passing through.

Frontierland
Seriously, on Sunday morning, we had to wonder — where are all the people?

Things felt a little busy around Pirates of the Caribbean, but this area tends to be a bit of a chokepoint. However, it has felt more busy in this area before.

Pirates of the Caribbean
The same can be said for Fantasyland, but we’ve seen WAY more people in this area, even right after the reopening.

Fantasyland
So, yeah, still oddly quiet for Spring Break on the weekend.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked about the same as the other parks — crowded, but not too bad. Again, this is lighter than what we expected, but maybe that’s because we’re still used to the old Spring Break crowds.

Hollywood Studios
Lines for some attractions, though, were long. This is NOT the end of the line for Tower of Terror, but for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster — that wait time was about 50 minutes.

Tower of Terror
We visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge later in the evening on Saturday, and it was almost deserted. Apparently this is the time of day to grab your Blue Milk and take a ride on the Millennium Falcon!

Even Toy Story Land was super calm…

So it seems many of the Spring Break folks might have already left? Well, Park Passes are almost completely gone for the month of March, so we’ll continue to keep an eye on what crowds look like. As of Sunday, things are pretty quiet in the parks compared to earlier in the week!
We’ll continue to monitor crowds in the parks and give you updates!
