Disney World tends to be a spring break destination, and this year is no different.

Orlando Airport
We’ve seen Park Pass Reservations fill up a LOT in the month of March, meaning Disney World will look pretty busy in the coming weeks. Most people that fly to Disney World go through the Orlando International Airport, and it looks like the airport is expecting a major travel increase for spring break.
The global pandemic began around spring break last year, and airports saw a dramatic drop in travel during the spring of 2020. According to Positively Osceola, Orlando International Airport has predicted a rebound with a 45% increase from last year’s spring break. This means they are expecting 613,000 more passengers than last year to depart in this spring break season which is between February 28th and April 13th.

Orlando International Airport
Phil Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, made a statement about spring break travel. He said “The combination of additional flights in our market, the expanded distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and the undeniable lure of Central Florida as a getaway destination portends for robust air travel as we approach this year’s Spring Break.”

Flying to Orlando
He continued his statement by saying “It is a much-welcomed improvement over this time last year when we were at the depths of the pandemic.” Positively Osceola also reports that Easter Sunday (April 4th) is expected to be the busiest day of spring break travel with 55,435 departures from the airport.

Orlando International Airport
Orlando International Airport is expecting about 1.9 million passengers through the spring break season. We’ll keep you updated on the latest travel news, and how it can affect your Disney vacation.
