Over at EPCOT, we’re still waiting for some of our favorite restaurants to reopen!
This is especially true over at the newly-reopened Morocco Pavilion — we’ve been waiting for both Tangierine Cafe and Restaurant Marrakesh to open their doors again! But now, there’s a new snack option in the Pavilion you might want to check out.
Today, we checked out a NEW snack location in the Morocco Pavilion called Oasis Sip & Sweets. You can find it in the Brass Bazaar.
This location is a snack cart with Mediterranean-inspired treats.
The menu features things like roasted chickpeas, mixed nuts and dates, olives, Casa beer, and sangria. And yes, your eyes are not deceiving you — that sangria is $20 (more on that in a bit)!
We know Disney World prices aren’t real world prices for food but these prices seemed high even for Disney. $6 for nuts? Over $5 for olives? We were getting hotel minibar vibes here BIG TIME. We could buy multiple JARS of olives at our local grocery for $5, so color us intrigued.
We grabbed the Shareable White Sangria for $20 (ouch!) along with the Mixed Nuts and Dates for $6, and Mediterranean Olives for $5.25. Yep, this small mid-day snack cost us around $30. Let’s look closer.
First up, those olives. The olives included purple and green olives, cocktail pickles, garlic cloves, capers, sliced red pepper, and Mediterranean seasonings tossed in olive oil. The seasoning was surprisingly HOT! The seasoning had great Mediterranean flavor, but heads up — the garlic might be overwhelming for many people. You are chomping into whole pieces of garlic, after all! We loved the garlic, but just FYI. Maybe don’t eat this before a hot date is all we’re saying. 😉
For $5.25, the serving is a little on the small side. BUT, for EPCOT it’s still a pretty unique snack. And FYI, if you’re in need of a fork, they do have them, but not on display at this time. Just ask.
The Mixed Nuts and Dates were also surprisingly good! The mix included peanuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, and dates, all mixed up with a sweet seasoning mix. Together, the seasoned nuts and dates gave us that sweet and salty combo we really like.
OK guys, but look at the size of that baggy. It’s basically the size of a pack of nuts you’d get on an airplane! For $6! They WERE tasty, but probably not $6 tasty.
But let’s talk about this $20 Sangria, shall we? Because that seems a little steep, even for Disney. First, it’s served in a reusable carafe that must be returned when you’re done (so don’t walk away with it!). There are plastic bins on top of the trash cans to leave your carafes in when done. But, when we saw the carafe was served only half full — and a lot of the volume in there is taken up by ice — we were wondering if we got our $20 worth.
You’re given two glasses (because it’s shareable) and we actually did pour it into both glasses to confirm that it was two decent servings.
The sangria was made with Albariño white wine, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, Monin Elderflower, and white grape juice. It was served garnished with a cherry, oranges, and blackberries. It was a very refreshing drink. It’s not too strong in the alcohol department and tasted predominantly like white grape juice to us. There’s a red sangria option as well, if that’s more to your liking.
Although WE didn’t share it, the price isn’t THAT bad when you think of it as $10 per glass. In fact, wine at most places in EPCOT, especially festival booths, runs around $10 per glass. It’s worth noting here you can’t actually order it by the glass, only the sharable size, so you’re out $20 if you’re on your own here.
Concerning the price, we reached out on Instagram to see what you thought and it was pretty split down the middle! Many people commented that, for Disney World, the price seemed right. Others said if the carafe was full they’d be happy to buy it.
A Cast Member told us that the cart hopes to be open every day from 1PM, if staffing allows. So if you’re looking for a fairly healthy snack at Disney World, it’s an option, although it’s a slightly pricier one. We recently got a whole tomato mozzarella salad for under $5, so there are definitely cheaper options BUT, it’s nice to see more options in Morocco.
If we find any other new snacks at Disney World, we’ll be sure to let you know.
