On Sunday, Super Bowl LV took place.
Even though Magic Kingdom’s annual Super Bowl parade was canceled this year, Disney still took part in the big day. New trailers for Raya and the Last Dragon and The Falcon and the Winter Solider debuted, and Disney animals even tried to get in on the fun by guessing who would win! And after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers clinched a victory, Magic Kingdom celebrated in its own way.
Sunday night, Cinderella Castle lit up with red to recognize the Buccaneer’s victory. Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, posted a video of the colorful castle. A few days ago we spotted projections being tested in the park…and now we might know why!
The castle was also lit a bright blue to honor and thank the nation’s healthcare workers. This is not the first time the castle has turned blue in appreciation: Disney parks around the world showed their gratitude on World Health Day last year.
Even though the celebration was not on the same scale as the usual parade, we’re glad we got to see a little Super Bowl fun at Disney this year. As always, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates!
