This year is Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary!

The parks have been through a lot of changes in the last few decades, like the addition of Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora, the Cinderella Castle makeover, and some new resorts. And now there’s now a way to look back on all this history.
Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half-Century is now available for pre-order. The book “paints a robust portrait of the Walt Disney World Resort, across half a century, through diverse and vibrant voices and mostly unseen Disney theme park concept art and photographs.”

The story will follow Disney from its origins as “the Florida project” to the pulse of American leisure as theme parks, water parks, sports arenas, recreational water sports, world-class golf courses, vast shopping villages, and a transportation network were all added to the property.

The book will serve as a celebration of the first 50 years and a look forward to the next, as Disney World gears up to honor its 50th anniversary “through an unprecedented celebration kicking off in Fall 2021.”
