After reopening in July 2020, Tokyo Disney Resort was reinstating normal operations, the return of nighttime fireworks and parades and character meet and greets in the fall.

But in recent weeks, Japan has had a major surge in COVID-19 cases, leading to a travel ban on non-resident foreign travelers coming into the country.
And Tokyo Disney Resort is scaling back its operations in a big way, reducing hours, suspending fireworks, suspending ticket sales and lowering capacity, and shutting down 20-plus restaurants across property.

Now, other parts of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 2021 plans have been affected by the global health crisis. The resort announced its planned event Happy Fair with Baymax, which was originally scheduled to start on January 13th, has been postponed.

The event was supposed to feature special merchandise, meet and greets, treats, and more, centered around Tokyo Disneyland’s new Tomorrowland ride, The Happy Ride with Baymax. It was supposed to be a celebration of all things happiness (and BOY do we all need that around the world!). It was set to begin on January 13th, but will now take place at a later date.
