Construction in Disney World has seen some exciting progress this week! That’s right, we’re looking at you Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew.

That’s right, the highly anticipated Disney Springs donut shop has officially opened! Plus, there are plenty of other construction updates to check out from this week. Let’s take a look!

Magic Kingdom

Main Street Train Station

On a gloomy day in Magic Kingdom, the totally inconspicuous Main Street Train Station scrim seems to stick out a little bit more. No noticeable changes have been made to the indefinitely closed station.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed due to construction on the upcoming coaster, TRON Lightcycle Run, which was originally expected to open this year. However, USA Today speculates that TRON will be delayed until next year, which may also impact the reopening of the railroad.

Rivers of America

Refurbishments continue at Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat. Work is being done to the track that the boat uses to travel down the river.

During one of our most recent visits to Magic Kingdom, there were a handful of work trucks down on the riverbeds. They’re certainly not the type of transportation we’re used to seeing down there!

It appeared that the bolts on the riverboat’s track were being painted white when we passed by.

Later in the week, we noticed that the “Harper’s Mill” sign that decorates the building has been removed!

Both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are slated to remain closed through February 28th.

EPCOT

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

One of EPCOT’s most highly anticipated upcoming attractions is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This ride will be one of the longest indoor coasters ever built! We’ve noticed some gradual progress to the exterior of the attraction over the last few weeks.

We’re eagerly awaiting an opening date for this intergalactic adventure!

Harmonious Nighttime Spectacular

We can’t wait to see Disney’s newest nighttime spectacular, Harmonious. A gigantic barge that will be used in the show, along with informational signs, have been added to the World Showcase Lagoon as of last month.

We recently saw a collection of various work equipment out on the lagoon.

And excitingly, on Friday we saw the arm of the barge being tested! Check out the action in the video below!

This upcoming show will include custom-built LED panels, pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, and more, to create one of the biggest nighttime spectaculars in a Disney park.

Disney Springs

Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew

We’ve been dreaming of donuts from Everglazed since they announced they’d be opening a Disney Springs location last June. And this past Wednesday, the shop FINALLY opened! You won’t be surprised to know that we went and tried all the donuts our hearts desired. It’s been a long journey, so let’s look at the final product!

The spot offers outdoor seating where you can enjoy your super-indulgent donuts.

The interior looked really well-done, too! But you know what we’re really looking at is the donuts behind the counter 😉.

We’ll be satisfying our sugar cravings here at Everglazed, especially while Gideon’s Bakehouse remains temporarily closed.

We’re happy there is another place to grab breakfast in Disney Springs!
