Are you full yet? We’re eating our way around EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!
We’ve already stopped by sooo many booths, but we’re heading on over to the Italy Pavilion to see what dishes they’re serving up! In the past, the Italy booth has left us wanting. Will L’Arte di Mangiare surprise us this year? Let’s see!
First up, here’s a glimpse at that menu!
So, let’s check out those eats!
Food
ALL of the food at L’Arte di Mangiare is new this year and we’re so excited to try it. First up, we’ve got the L’Aragosta, lobster ravioli with vanilla-saffron cream sauce and shredded chili peppers for $15. These flavors are pretty interesting!
This dish was our favorite at this booth! The ravioli has a good bit of lobster inside each one and the vanilla-saffron cream sauce brings some elevated flavors to the dish overall. Plus, it’s SUPER buttery which is exactly what you want with a heaping ball of lobster.
Another savory option at the Italy booth this fest is the Arancini, sweet sausage fried Risotto balls with Pomodoro sauce for $12.
We had high hopes for this dish and, well, it let us down. They were okay, but we weren’t fans of the sauce and they didn’t have very much flavor. The sauce had a surprising level of tang to it that seemed out of place. Plus, on top of that, we couldn’t even taste much sausage at all.
And for dessert, we’ve got the Bomboloni, A.K.A. a cream-filled Italian doughnut with raspberry sauce and powdered sugar for $11. You might recognize this as a smaller version of the treat at Disney Springs’ Vivoli il Gelato!
As much as we love fried dough, these treats were not our favorites of the day. They were very basic and lacked in the flavor department too. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend these unless you’re a MAJOR donut stan — and even then, there are better treats elsewhere.
Enough about the food! Let’s talk about what you’ll be using to wash it down!
Drinks
It wouldn’t be the Italy booth without WINE! This year, the offerings include Pinot Grigio ($10), Chianti ($10), Prosecco ($10), Rosa Regale ($11), Moscato ($11), Italian White Sangria with Prosecco ($11), and Italian Red Sangria with Cabernet Sauvignon ($11). There’s also a beer offering of Peroni Pilsner for $6/6 oz and $10/12 oz.
We tried BOTH Sangrias and the Prosecco! The Prosecco was VERY dry — so a good choice for those who like a dry bubbly. If you like sweet, you’re probably better off snagging a sangria instead.
Speaking of sangria, the Italian White Sangria with Prosecco was pretty tasty. Both sangria options have a lot of fruit flavor without being too sweet.
Still, the Italian Red Sangria with Cabernet Sauvignon was our favorite thanks to its bolder flavors! The way the fruit juices marry with the wine made for a super satisfying sip.
Returning cocktails include the Italian Margarita with Tequila and Limoncello for $11, the Bergamotto made with Italicus Rosolio Di Bergamotto, Prosecco, and Cerignola Olive for $16, and the Amaretto Bellini made with Amaretto, White Peach Purée, and Prosecco for $13.
Overall
Welp, once again, the Italy Pavilion has fallen into our expectations. This booth isn’t bad, but it certainly doesn’t wow us compared to some of the other options at the festival. Our favorite dish was the Lobster Ravioli, so if you’re stopping by, you might want to give that one a try! Still, this booth might be more skippable than the others so get your fill at a different booth, and stop by Italy for one of their many beverage options if your goal is to hit up all the booths this year!
